Squiggle Logo and Stationary Design

Here is some graphic design. These are from a logo and branding project I worked on through CrowdSpring. If you have never been there, check them out. Great projects you can pick and choose from.

The project was for an event planning company that needed a logo. They wanted something they could use as a stand alone icon as well as something including their name. Unfortunately, they did not choose mine, but I liked the design and stationary package I came up with, so I am posting it. I used Illustrator for all of the layout and such, and 3DS Max for the squiggle itself. I would love feedback, so let me know what you think!

The Best Laid Plans

Sometimes you make a plan and get excited about a project and start research for that project. And then the rug gets pulled out from underneath your feet. Photoshoptober isn't going to happen this year, I'm afraid. Please continue to follow the blog as I will be adding new projects soon. My original plan may have gone awry, but I m making things and moving forward. Tally Ho!

Welcome Back!

So I know it's been a while - a LONG while - since there has been any activity here. We are back and I have decided that I am going to kick off this return with a major undertaking. Introducing

I had this idea based on something Anthony is participating in called Inktober started by Jake Parker. The goal of Inktober is to do 31 drawings in 31 days. It is a chance to put ink to paper and create something everyday.

We all have skills we need to practice. I need to work on my Photoshop skills. I use Adobe Illustrator all the time, but I find myself lost when opening Photoshop. I am going to find tutorials from books and the web with the goal of completing one each day. 31 pieces in 31 days. I will post the completed works along with links to the tutorials and resources I used.

If you would like to participate, use #photoshoptober on Twitter & Facebook. Or start your own 'tober if there is something you want to get better at. In the book Outliers: The Story of Success, Malcolm Gladwell says: “Practice isn’t the thing you do once you’re good. It’s the thing you do that makes you good.” So let us practice!
